A SONG. Tune, Bumper, 'Squire Jones.
Whilst parties engage,
And hot-headed spirits imprudently fight,
Oh! shame to the age!
Shall man of high trust, by a conduct unjust,
Such actions invite?
Avaunt the dire thought, let us act as we ought,
Let the demon of discord and faction begone;
For what else can we think, but our credit will sink,
'Till Governor, Council, and Commons, are one.
